Ratan Ekta Trust Gaushala is one of India's most trusted and transparent cow sanctuaries, nestled on the sacred land near Shamli Uttar Pradesh, who was himself a lifelong cowherd and protector of Gaumata.
Founded by Mr.Dinesh Kumar with a simple belief — that every cow abandoned on a road, every cow injured by traffic, every cow left to starve, is a call to action — our gaushala has grown from a 6-acre plot with 12 cows into a 15-acre living sanctuary that houses and nurtures over 600 Gaumatas every single day.
"गावो विश्वस्य मातरः"
— Mahabharat · Cows are the mothers of the entire world
Every corner of this gaushala holds decades of devotion, sacrifice, and the quiet love of thousands who believe Gaumata deserves nothing but the best.
Dinesh Kumar Ji, the Director of Ratan Ekta Trust, has dedicated his life to the service of those in need. Born with a heart full of compassion, he always believed that true service to God lies in helping the helpless — whether human or animal.
Without hesitation, Dinesh Kumar Ji sold his gold and his family's savings, acquired land on the outskirts of Shamli Uttar Pradesh, and with just a bamboo shed, a water drum, and 12 rescued cows — Ratan Ekta Trust's Gaushala was born.
Word spread. Neighbours donated bricks. Local volunteers stepped forward. Farmers donated hay. Within six months, the small shelter had expanded to 40 cows and the first permanent structure had been built — all because one man refused to look away.
In 2021, with increasing numbers of injured cows arriving — many hit by vehicles, many suffering from malnutrition, infections, and skin diseases — we built our first dedicated veterinary unit with a full-time resident doctor.
Today, our medical wing is one of the most advanced bovine care units in western Uttar Pradesh. We have an operation theatre, a quarantine zone for sick animals, a pharmacy stocked with Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines, and a team of 3 qualified vets supported by 8 trained compounders.
On average, our vets treat 40–60 cows every single day, handling everything from routine dental care to complex surgeries for accident victims.
We believe a gaushala must not be a burden on society — it must be a gift to it. Our 15-acre campus runs on a completely circular Vedic economy inspired by Panchagavya principles.
Every drop of cow dung becomes organic compost or biogas that powers our kitchen and lighting. Every litre of cow urine is processed into Gomutra Ark and other Ayurvedic formulations. Our A2 milk goes to the gaushala's seva needs and is also distributed to poor families nearby at subsidised rates.
We grow 60% of our own fodder on 8 acres of farmland, reducing our dependency on market rates and ensuring our cows always have fresh, nutritious green fodder round the year.
Everything we do at Ratan Ekta Trust Gaushala falls under one of these four sacred pillars — each essential, each interconnected.
Three wholesome meals daily — green fodder, dry hay, oil-cake, mineral supplements, and seasonal fruits — ensuring every cow thrives.
Round-the-clock veterinary care, emergency rescue operations, surgery, Ayurvedic treatments, and lifetime post-recovery monitoring.
Daily rituals, puja, bathing, grooming, and meditation time with our cows. We believe love and spiritual seva are as vital as food and medicine.
Sustainable products — A2 ghee, Gomutra Ark, organic compost, and biogas — creating a self-reliant circular economy rooted in Vedic wisdom.
We do not turn away any cow — regardless of age, health condition, or breed. From newborns to the very old, each Gaumata finds a permanent home with us.
Most of our cows arrive in critical condition — hit by vehicles, abandoned after they stop producing milk, starving on urban streets, or suffering from infections and injuries that their previous owners couldn't afford to treat.
We run a 24-hour emergency helpline and maintain a fleet of two custom rescue vans that operate across Shamli Uttar Pradesh, and nearby districts. Once a cow arrives, she stays with us for life — we never send a cow away once she is with us.

They do not come for a salary. They come because Gaumata called them.
A man who sold everything to rescue three injured cows in 2019. Today, Dinesh Kumar Ji — Director of Ratan Ekta Trust — still walks every cow shed at sunrise, greeting each Gaumata by name.
The backbone of all daily operations — from ensuring fodder stocks never run empty to managing a team of 200 volunteers and keeping donor relations warm and personal.
With 18 years of bovine medicine experience and a special interest in Ayurvedic treatments, Dr. Sharma leads a team that has successfully treated over 4,000 injured and critically ill cows.
